hversu hraðan örgjörva þarf til að hann sé ekki bottleneck fyrir GTX580 í sli? en GTX570 í sli ?

nei en t.d. myndi i7-950 í stock-speed ekki bottlenecka GTX580 í sli?

Skv. Guru3D virðist vera að jafnvel i7 980X haldi ekki í við GTX580 SLI, en ég get ekki ímyndað mér að það sé mjög eftirtektarvert. Hins vegar held ég að GTX570 SLI sé mun skynsamlegri kostur. Mjög svipað performance en frekar mikill munur á kostnaði.
When we wrote our GeForce GTX 580 SLI (2-way) article, we where flabbergasted by the great performance scaling, yet we did notice some CPU limitation (processor bottleneck) here and there. That means with current generation processors, your GPUs might want to go a little faster, but the CPU is holding them back.
As such it might make more sense to get two products in SLI that are price wise more interesting while in theory the SLI performance should remain close to each other, especially monitor resolutions of 1920x1080 and below

mmm hélt það líka, las reyndar review um 3 way sli á GTX580 og það er ekkert vit í því sem stendur (fjárhagslega)
er nú aðallega að hugsa um að hafa góða uppfærsluleið, ætla að taka annað hvort 1 GTX570 eða 580 núna og vonandi einhverjum örgjörva sem gæti ráðið við a.m.k. GTX570 í sli án þess að vera bottleneck.
